SCHOR, David,
David Schor was born in New York City, and attended DeWitt Clinton High School and City College of New York. After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree, David worked most of his life in the textile business. In 1946, he took his wife and two small children to live in Cuba where they lived for three years. David was fluent in Spanish and he used his language skills in his extensive work experience and travels in Latin America. Returning to New York in 1949, he and his family spent several years there, and then moved to Los Angeles, CA to raise his children in the warmth of the California sun. In 1959, he and his family moved to Caracas, Venezuela, where he worked as executive vice president for a major textile firm. He spent 17 years in Venezuela. Upon retiring at the age of 60, he and Marcia moved to Los Altos where he remained until his death. His mind was always active and his love of travel continued for many years. He always felt that if he could get a good lean corned beef sandwich, life was worth living. He will be sorely missed.
Services took place on Monday, March 31, 2003 at Roller and Hapgood and Tinney in Palo Alto, CA and he was buried on April 1, 2003 at Los Gatos Memorial Park on the anniversary of his wife’s death.
Memorial gifts may be offered in his name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Office of Donor Services, 1211 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains, New York 10605.
