If you’re a creative person, the sky’s the limit when it comes to design. Jill Angle’s canvas for creativity is paper photo frames.
Under the name Lily Luna Paper Frames, the Los Altos resident has started a Web-based business to market her unique picture frames. They offer a fun way to display snapshots and photos.
“People constantly send me photos of their kids and friends on vacation and I had to find a way to display them,” said Angle. “Like most people, I used to stow them in a cardboard box and forget them. Now I hang them on my refrigerator and I love them there. I can see my friends and rotate them as I want.”
Angle has lived in Los Altos for 15 years and worked for the now defunct Palo Alto Times Tribune. Her newspaper savvy is reflected in her inventive treatment of photo frames.
Angle offered some imaginative suggestions for using her paper picture frames in addition to the standard refrigerator exhibit. They are packaged with both a magnetic and easel backing for stand-up display.
The frames can be tacked on a bulletin board or tucked in a greeting card and mailed to family and friends. They make original favors for special events, reunions and family gatherings. Kids can stick them on their school lockers or put them in their scrapbooks.
Angle plans to add additional background designs and 4-by-6-inch and 5-by-7-inch sizes to the current 4-by-4-inch paper picture frames.
Prices are $2.99 with discounts for quantity orders. The frames are available at Los Altos Card & Party, 253 State St. in Los Altos or direct from Angle.
