The honors continue to pile up for Kati McBain, a University of Texas women’s soccer player from Los Altos.

A day after earning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week distinction for the second time this season, McBain was named to both the Soccer America National Team of the Week and the Soccer Buzz Elite Team of the Week.

The junior midfielder received the national honors Oct. 16, becoming the first Longhorn player to make the Soccer Buzz Team. This marks the second time McBain has made the Soccer America National Team.

The St. Francis High graduate tallied a goal and a career-best four assists in Texas’ 5-1 victory over Texas Tech Oct. 11 and also assisted on the game-tying goal vs. Baylor Oct. 13 that sparked a second-half comeback and a 3-1 Texas win.

McBain’s six-point effort against Texas Tech equaled an individual-game career best, while her five assists over the two matches upped her career total to 27 and established a new school career assist record.

The two-time All-Big 12 performer and 2002 Preseason All-Big 12 selection has posted 22 points through 13 games and was tied for ninth nationally in assists per game (0.77) as of last week.

McBain’s Longhorns (10-2-1, 5-0-0 Big 12) entered this week ranked No. 4 by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and Soccer America magazine.
