Los Altos swept its season series against rival Mountain View with a 15-9, 15-8, 15-12 home win last Thursday.
Ashley Bjorklund and Ashley Watson led the Eagles with six kills each.
The win improved Los Altos to 6-1 in the SCVAL De Anza Division, 14-8 overall; the Spartans sunk to 1-5, 7-18.
“I thought the girls played hard tonight after coming off such a disappointing loss to Paly,” coach Gerrie Phillips said of her Mountain View team, which totalled just 13 points in an Oct. 15 loss to Palo Alto.
Phillips said Colleen Nicholls “really picked up her playing level” vs. Los Altos, compiling three kills, three aces, three digs and three blocks. Colleen Schumacher had nine kills, three aces and 14 digs, while Erin McConnell posted six kills, two digs and two blocks.
On Sept. 26, Los Altos defeated Mountain View 15-10, 12-15, 15-8, 15-4.
In other local volleyball action last week:
Pinewood took care of visiting Fremont Christian 15-6, 15-5, 15-12 Thursday in a Private Schools Athletic League match. Brett Smith-Hams paced the Panthers (3-1, 14-6) with 12 kills; Julie Nakamoto and Anna Tracey added nine each.
Gunn dropped a 15-11, 9-15, 8-15, 4-15 decision to rival Palo Alto Thursday in a De Anza Division contest. Jennifer Wang had seven kills for the visiting Titans (2-5, 12-12).
