The eighth annual Trailblazer Race is scheduled for Sunday at Shoreline Park in Mountain View.
The event, organized by The Friends of Stevens Creek Trail, will start and finish in front of the Microsoft campus on La Avenida off Shoreline Boulevard.
The main events start at 8:30 a.m. and include a 10K race, 5K race and a 5K trail walk. Each course runs along stretches of the Stevens Creek Trail and circles most of Shoreline Park. All courses are wheelchair accessible.
There also will be free children’s races, starting at 10 a.m. These include short dashes on the lawn for younger children and a longer run around the campus.
Men’s and women’s age divisions for the main races include 12 and under; 13-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-plus.
The overall male and female 10K winners will receive prizes. All registered participants will receive Trailblazer shirts, food and beverages.
Participation fees, ranging from $12 to $27, are tax deductible. Proceeds benefit the Friends of Steven Creek Trail, a non-profit group dedicated to extending the trail through Mountain View to Cupertino and connecting to mountain trails leading to the Pacific Ocean.
