By Foothill Expressway upgrades discussed

The County of Santa Clara Roads and Airports Department is scheduled to hold four community meetings during September and October to discuss the Comprehensive County Expressway Planning Study. The goal of the expressway study is to develop a long-term strategic plan for the eight expressways in Santa Clara County, including Foothill Expressway, which runs through Los Altos.

County Supervisor Liz Kniss is scheduled to host a meeting focusing on expressways in the north county area at 6:30 p.m., Sept. 18, at the Los Altos Youth Center, 1 N. San Antonio Road.

Improvement plans for Foothill, Page Mill/Oregon, and Central expressways will be discussed, as well as information on current and future projected traffic conditions.

County officials hope to receive community input on the proposed plan for each expressway.
