By Last week's letters to the editor section included the letter titled, "Wake up call for doctor," that was incorrectly attributed to Laura Brown. The writer's correct name is Laura Bryan. Laura Brown, who has contributed to the Town Crier in the past as a writer for the Morning Forum lecture series, is currently running for a seat on the Mountain View City Council. She has nothing to do with the letter or its sentiments. The Town Crier regrets this case of mistaken identity and apologizes to the parties involved.

An Aug. 28 op-ed piece by Jeannie Conner incorrectly stated in the tagline that she was involved in the Mountain View-Los Altos High School Foundation. Although a longtime contributor to the Los Altos Educational Foundation, Conner has not been involved in the high school foundation.

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
