By LAH resident leads choral groups in salute to 9
Los Altos Hills resident Charlene Archibeque is leading the San Jose State Choraliers, The Choral Project, the San Jose Chamber Orchestra and the American Beethoven Society in a concert, “Remembering Voices,” honoring Sept. 11 victims on the one-year anniversary of the infamous terrorist attacks.
The concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., at Mission Santa Clara, on the campus of Santa Clara University, 500 El Camino Real.
Archibeque, along with conductors Daniel Hughes and Barbara Day Turner, has selected a series of compositions that evoke a sense of spiritual comfort and healing in memory of those who died Sept. 11.
The centerpiece of the evening is the Requiem of Gabriel Fauré, his best-known choral work.

Schola Cantorum memorial service
Mountain View-based Schola Cantorum, in conjunction with the Office for Religious Life at Stanford University, will commemorate the 9/11 tragedy with a community sing-along of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s timeless Requiem on beginning at 8:46 a.m. today in the Stanford Memorial Church on the Stanford University campus.
Schola Cantorum is part of a worldwide choral commemoration of all those lost their lives and those who helped others on 9/11.
Performances of the Requiem will be held in every time zone beginning at 8:46 a.m., the time of the first attack on the World Trade Center.
