Julie Marie Nicholas and Steven Michael Wheeler were married June 29 at Los Altos Lutheran Church. A reception followed at the Palo Alto Golf and Country Club.

The bride is the daughter of Milton and Marilyn Nicholas of Los Altos. She graduated from Los Altos High School and received a bachelor’s degree in political science from Santa Clara University and a master’s degree in human relations and organization development from San Francisco State University.

She is employed at Fish & Richardson P.C.

The groom is the son of Paul and Christine Wheeler of Gilroy. He graduated from Bellarmine College Preparatory and received a bachelor’s degree in political science from California State University, Chico. He currently is attending Santa Clara University School of Law.

The couple live in Redwood City.

Cardoza, Painter

Jill Cardoza and Al Painter were married May 25 at Byington Winery, Los Gatos.

The bride is the daughter of Nini Cardoza and Larry Cardoza of Granite Bay and Roseville, respectively.

The bride attended Loretto High School, Sacramento.

She graduated from Santa Clara University with bachelor’s degrees in theater and dance, and English literature.

She is employed as a development and alumni coordinator at Phillips Brooks School in Menlo Park.

The groom is the son of Angie and Vernon Painter of Hollister.

He graduated from Santa Clara University with a bachelor’s degree in communication. He is employed as a strength condition coach at Personal Trainers of Los Altos.

The couple plan to live in the Mountain View-Los Altos area.
