The production crew of Ron Hazelton’s “House Calls” will be rolling into the streets of Los Altos this weekend to film a home improvement project.

The home of Tom Urban and his wife, Rebecca Sweet, is one of the six Bay Area residences that will be featured on the show.

With the encouragement of their neighbor, Suzanne Virga, Urban and Sweet applied online for the show.

The couple said they are eagerly anticipating Hazelton’s expertise.

From 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., production crews will hustle back and forth to produce the perfect outdoor kitchen for the couple in just two days.

Though much of the show’s outcome is a surprise, Sweet said, “I look forward to seeing what they can do in the period of two days.”

“House Calls” airs next week on ABC.

In Our Opinion

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
