By The Los Altos main library will welcome new full-time children's librarian Patricia Williams on Sept. 17. She received her MLIS from San Jose State University in 1996, and has worked for the Santa Clara County Library in various capacities since 1995.
Events at the library in September include:
Today: Whodunit? mystery readers’ group will discuss “A Broken Vessel” by Kate Ross, 10:15 to 11:30 a.m., in the group study room, and the library will hold a book discussion on “The End of the Affair’ by Graham Greene from 7:30 to 9 p.m., in the small conference room.
Friday through Sunday, Friends of the Library used book sale at Hillview Community Center. Friday, members only, 7-9 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 3 p.m., by the bag.
Tuesday: Slide lecture on “Eternal Egypt: Masterworks of Ancient Art from the British Museum,” 7:30-9 p.m., at Hillview Community Center.
Oct. 2: Whodunit? mystery readers’ group will discuss “Deadlock” by Sara Paretsky, 10:15-11:30 a.m., in the group study room.
