By Local Boy Scouts Trent Larsen, Chris Metcalfe, Alan Moore and Chris Siefert from Troop 33 were named Eagle Scouts at a special Court of Honor May 25.

The Eagle Scout is the highest rank a youth can achieve in the Scouting program. Less than 2 percent of Scouts nationally ever reach this rank.

Since 1952, Troop 33, sponsored by Los Altos Methodist Church, has seen 109 Scouts earn Eagle awards.

In order to reach this rank, the Scouts needed to complete community projects. Trent’s project included the installation of backpack hooks and safety barriers at Loyola School.

Chris Metcalfe renovated the recycling site at Hidden Villa.

Alan filmed and edited an anti-drug public service announcement broadcast to the community by the local television station.

Chris Siefert constructed a 75-foot walkway for Redwood Grove in Los Altos.
