The Los Altos and Los Altos Hills Time Capsule Committee has announced the dedication of the capsule is scheduled for 12:45 p.m., Aug. 25, on the grounds of the Los Altos History Museum.

The capsule will be buried just outside the water tank beneath a natural local river rock from nearby Adobe Creek. The interment is one of the events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the city of Los Altos’ incorporation.

The committee, formed in conjunction with the Los Altos Millennium Celebration New Year’s Eve 2000, includes Los Altos and Los Altos Hills residents: J. Windell and Susie Smith; Rich and Bev Marconi; Ken and Sally Coonrod; Chuck and Eloise Bodine; Dick and Susan Moss; Don and Dianne Overbo; and Garry and Nancy Wride.

The contents of the capsule, gathered during 1999 and 2000, preserve a sampling of the culture and life of the community as the 20th century becomes the 21st for the citizens at the turn of the next century.

They have been organized, inventoried and individually preserved by a professional firm.
