The Foothill-De Anza Community College District is asking area residents to donate vehicles to the Foothill-De Anza Foundation, which funds programs and services at both community colleges.

Used cars, trucks, RVs, boats and even planes may be donated.

The foundation, established in 1997, raises private funds to support the students and educational programs at Foothill (based in Los Altos Hills) and De Anza (Cupertino).

The foundation will arrange to pickup the vehicle and handle the necessary paperwork. Those who donate will receive a thank you letter confirming tax-deductibility.

In Our Opinion

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
