Five residents have taken out papers but have yet to file for two open seats on the Los Altos Hills City Council.

So far, potential candidates include Janet Vitu, currently a town planning commissioner; Bill Kerns; Steve Hubbell; Breene Kerr; and Dean Warshawsky.

Incumbent council members Toni Casey and Steve Finn have stated they will not seek another term.

Candidates have until Aug. 9 to file, while incumbents have until Aug. 14 to change their minds.

Finn made headlines last week when the Securities and Exchange Commission alleged a company he headed, Colorado-based Gemisys Corp., violated rules in a number of areas related to sloppy record keeping.
