By The summer is here, which means the high school and college teams the Town Crier usually covers are on a break.

The Town Crier sports department won’t be going on a break, though, and is on the lookout for summer sports stories.

If you or someone you know is participating in a sport this summer or would make an interesting feature story, please contact us.

The Town Crier sports department can be reached a number of ways, including:

By calling 948-9000, ext. 315. The best time to call is during our business hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. A message can also be left after hours on our voice mail.

By sending a fax to 948-6647. Please write “Attention Sports” at the top of the fax.

By sending an e-mail to peteb@latc.com. Please write “Sports Story Idea” in the subject line. Please do not send attachments.

In Our Opinion

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
