Los Altos Art Docents seeks volunteers
The Los Altos Art Docents will be starting a new training session in September.
The art docents are trained volunteers who teach art appreciation and hands-on art projects in the six Los Altos elementary schools. An art background is not necessary, only a love of art and a willingness to share that love with children.
For more information, call Carole Elliott Heimforth at 941-4800, or look for the art docent table on campus the first day of school.

Music for Minors seeks volunteers
Volunteers are needed to become music docents in local elementary schools where music programs have been cut for primary grade classes.
Music for Minors, a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing a lifelong love of music in children, is now accepting applications for volunteers to join a team teaching music to grades K-3.
Extensive training is provided on basic music theory, lesson planning, classroom management, rhythm and movement activities and a variety of approaches to teaching music.
All volunteer docents receive college-accredited training. Classes are about 2.5 hours long and are held twice a week in Los Altos and San Mateo, Sept. 10 through Nov. 26.
Anyone who is interested in music, has experience working with small groups of children, and can sing in pitch is encouraged to apply. Bilingual skills are a plus.
For more information or an application, call Music for Minors at 941-9130.
