Country music singer Trisha Yearwood will headline the Children’s Health Council’s 43rd annual Summer Symphony, scheduled for Sunday at Stanford University’s Frost Amphitheater.
Proceeds from concert will benefit CHC programs and services, which help Bay Area children struggling with serious behavioral, learning and developmental challenges.
The concert starts at 6 p.m.; gates open at 4 for picnicking and pre-concert entertainment.
Yearwood, winner of three Grammy Awards, has performed at the Academy Awards, the Olympics and the Library of Congress. She was named Female Vocalist of the Year at the 1997 and ‘98 Country Music Awards.
Prior to Yearwood’s performance, the San Jose Symphony will play a 50-minute concert. Kate Kelly, television news anchor at KPIX Channel 5, will emcee the event.
Tickets are $40-$70. Picnic dinners are $13-$20.
