By Council approves condo applications
Los Altos City Council members approved a laundry list of minor items last week, including approval of applications for two condominium projects and acceptance of boundaries for a one-story overlay zone.
Council members July 9 approved design and subdivision applications for a 9-unit condo project at 41 Cuesta Drive and a 4-unit project at 477 Tyndall St.
The multiple-family- zoned projects each include one below-market-rate unit.
The council’s acceptance of the one-story overlay zone affects 24 houses fronting Jay Street. Such zoning prohibits homeowners from building to two stories.
The next Los Altos City Council meeting is scheduled at 7 p.m., Tuesday, at Los Altos City Hall, 1 N. San Antonio Road.

The nomination period opened Monday for candidates seeking office in the November election.

She’s currently president of the Mountain View-Los Altos High School Foundation.
In the El Camino Hospital District, two seats currently held by Mark O’Connor and David Reeder are open to prospective new candidates.
The nomination period closes on Aug. 9. Incumbents are allowed an extention period to declare candidacy through Aug. 14.
