Montecito School leaders are inviting alumni to visit their 40th reunion.

The event is set for noon to 5 p.m., July 27.

The school will provide beverages and cake. Bring a picnic lunch for the family.

There will be games, face painting and an astro jump. Anniversary T-shirts will be for sale, and the school will have tiles to decorate.

In addition, a 40th anniversary sculpture will be unveiled. Tours of the campus will be given for those who want to visit the classrooms.

Note that parents are expected to supervise their children at all times.

If you know of any alumni, please call or e-mail the office, so we may send them an invitation.

Please RSVP by July 19.

In Our Opinion

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
