Los Altos-Mountain View PONY Baseball is scheduled to host a Pony Division (ages 13-14) Sectional Tournament Saturday through July 27 at Rosita Park in Los Altos.
The competition includes host Los Altos-Mountain View, two teams from Pleasant Hill and squads representing San Carlos, San Mateo, San Francisco and Rodeo.
The double-elimination tourney opens with three games on both Saturday and Sunday; start times are set for 10 a.m., 12:30 and 3 p.m.
There will be games at 5:30 p.m., Monday through July 25, and the championship round starts at noon, July 27.
Los Altos-Mountain View opens play at 3 p.m., Saturday, against one of the Pleasant Hill teams.
Los Altos-Mountain View is made up of all-stars from eight local Pony Division teams. The roster includes Brian Bianchi, Jared Bucko, Tim Busbin, Steve Flory, Joseph Hatasaki, Sam Hedgpeth, Tom Jones, Mike Lawler, Jason Marshalla, Kevin Mueller, Mike Myers, Alec Nelson, Jason Panganiban, Alan Scott, and Brendan Ward. The team is coached by Steve Bianchi, Mark Busbin and Skip Mueller.
Los Altos-Mountain View will be vying for a chance to extend its season. The Section champ moves on to the Northern California Regional Tournament in Santa Clara and remains in contention for a spot in the U.S. West Zone Tournament and the Pony World Series.
