By Lansford is all-state

St. Francis High junior Josh Lansford was recently named to one of Cal-Hi Sports 2002 All-State Baseball Teams. Lansford, son of former Major League standout Carney Lansford, was selected for the All-State Underclass Team as an infielder.

Coaches wanted

Los Altos and Mountain View highs seek several coaches for the next school year. Los Altos needs head coaches for varsity softball, girls soccer and gymnastics, plus assistants for football. If interested, call athletic director Monica Lodge at 960-8857. Mountain View High seeks coaches for varsity girls basketball, girls junior varsity and freshman volleyball and JV boys water polo. Fifty meeting

Fifty-Plus Fitness Association’s next monthly discussion group is set for 7 p.m., Thursday, at the Page Mill YMCA, 755 Page Mill Road. The topic will be “Lifestyle Changes: Monitoring Your Fitness and Lifestyle.” Admission is free and the public is welcome. Information: 323-6160.

Cycling along

The Youthful Seniors Bike Ride departs from The Bicycle Outfitter at Loyola Corners in Los Altos at 10:30 a.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays. Riders can choose their challenge: 12 to 22 miles, flat route, some hills or major hills. Information: John Schaefer at 948-8092.

Hoops camps

Gunn High boys basketball coach Jeff Klenow’s Titan Hoops Camp for ages 8-13 is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through July 19, at Gunn, 780 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto. Cost is $80-$100. Information: 341-5725.
