Palo Alto Players closes its season with Frank Dunlop and Jim Dale’s comedy, “Scapino!,” opening this week in Palo Alto.

A paid preview is set for 8 p.m., Friday, and the play opens at the same time Saturday. “Scapino!” runs through June 30 at the Lucie Stern Theater, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto.

Directed by Kit Wilder, this classical romp is served up in modern day Italy. It features one of theater’s most rascally rogues, Scapino, whose wild farrago of tricks ensnare four defiant lovers, two miserly fathers and a number of unsliced bolognas.

Performances will be held at 8 p.m., Wednesdays through Saturdays; and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 30. There is no performance June 23.

Tickets are $16 for Friday’s preview and $26 for Saturday’s opening night gala. Tickets are $20 Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and $24 Fridays and Saturdays. Students/seniors receive $3 discount for Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday performances.

For tickets and more information, call 329-0891 or logon to www.paplayers.org.
