Suspicious person

May 29, 3:12 p.m., El Camino Real: Suspicious persons were loitering outside a store.

Welfare check

May 29, 3:27 p.m., Los Altos and Loucks avenues: A child was left unattended in a vehicle.

Stray animal

May 30, 10:16 a.m., Cherry Avenue: A stray, aggressive dog was in the neighborhood.

Wire down

May 31, 12:03 a.m., First Street: Police investigated a report of a downed wire sparking in the street.

Commercial alarm

May 31, 9:58 p.m., South San Antonio Road: Police responded to a hold-up alarm at Jerry’s Liquors.

Speeding vehicle

June 1, 8:56 p.m., Oak Avenue and Grant Road: A motorcycle was speeding up and down the road.

Drunk driving

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
