The Los Altos Rotary Club awarded local high school seniors with $11,000 in scholarships last week.

Marlene Cowan, chairperson of the scholarship committee, said seven students received awards, which were presented last Thursday.

The following students received scholarships:

Minh Dang - $2,500. The Los Altos High School senior plans to attend Stanford University or University of California, Berkeley, and study to become a doctor or teacher.

Linette Park - $1,700. The Los Altos High School senior plans to attend UCLA to study art .

Ivan Rosales - $2,500. The Mountain View High School senior plans to attend University of California, Santa Barbara.

Katherine Santoso - $2,500. The Mountain View High School senior plans to attend UCLA to study international business and Chinese.

Prenisha Shields - $800. The Alta Vista High School senior plans to attend Canada College in the fall to study English and journalism.

Thanh (Wendy) Huynh - $500. After Alta Vista High School she will attend Foothill College to study pre-law.

Eric Madrigal - $500. A student at Eastside College Preparatory School in East Palo Alto, he plans to attend University of California, Berkeley, to study civil engineering.
