May 5, 6:07 a.m., Miramonte Avenue and Clinton Road: A resident reported that trees and a barricade had suffered substantial damage, apparently after a vehicle struck them. No one witnessed the accident.

Residential alarm

May 6, 1:22 a.m., Delphi Circle and Miramonte Avenue: Police responded to a residential alarm.

Stray dogs

May 6, 6:19 a.m., McKenzie Avenue; and May 8, 12:05 a.m., Edge Lane: Residents reported two separate incidents in which dogs were running loose.

Battery

May 7, 10:12 a.m., North San Antonio Road: Police investigated a reported battery that occurred during a verbal dispute.

Accidents

May 7, 5:05 p.m., Becker Lane; and May 8, 3:15 p.m., Pasa Robles and Mercedes avenues: Two separate vehicle accidents involved major injuries.

Commercial alarm

May 8, 5:01 p.m. and 6:37 p.m., Main Street: Police investigated when a downtown business’ alarm sounded twice within a two-hour period.

Missing person

May 8, 7:27 a.m., East Portola Avenue: Police investigated a report of a missing juvenile.

Fire alarm

May 9, 1:07 p.m., West Edith Avenue: Firefighters conducted a smoke investigation.

Reckless driver

May 9, 7:51 p.m., Foothill Expressway and San Antonio Road: A resident reported seeing a motorist driving on the wrong side of the road.

Juvenile disturbance

May 12, 7:36 p.m., Fremont Avenue: Police investigated a report of juveniles shooting paint balls.

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
