By Montessori School celebrates 30 years
Montessori School of Los Altos is celebrating its 30th anniversary with music, refreshments, balloons, face-painting and a program honoring individuals who have contributed to the school over the past 30 years. Montclaire School hosts book fair
Montclaire Elementary School has scheduled a Scholastic Book Fair 2-4 p.m., May 14-15, and 2-8 p.m., May 16, at Montclaire’s Guided Learning Center.
The fair is open to the community and will feature books and learning materials from more than 150 publishers for readers of all ages. Patrons of the fair can purchase and donate requested books for any classroom library. Montclaire School is located at 1160 St. Joseph Ave., Los Altos.

De Anza College newspaper wins awards
The De Anza College newspaper, “La Voz Weekly,” won nine awards at the Journalism Association for Community Colleges 2002 Convention, April 4-6 in Sacramento. Among its honors were first place for an editorial and an award for general excellence.
St. Francis High holds successful blood drive
Over 130 students participated in the Saint Francis High School Service Club’s annual Spring Blood Drive April 24. Service Club members processed permission slips, checked students in at Raskob Memorial Gymnasium and acted as runners and support, while staff from the Stanford Medical School Blood Center drew blood throughout the day.
MV-LA Adult School summer registration
Summer registration at the Mountain View-Los Altos Adult School is scheduled to begin 8 a.m., Friday.
Class schedules will be available online Thursday, at www.mvlaae.org. Summer classes are scheduled to begin June 17.
