By Los Altos Hills Parks and Recreation is putting on a benefit 5K LAH Pathways Run

The 5K run/walk starts at 9 a.m. and the children’s Fun Run starts at 10:30 a.m. Both events start and finish at Westwind Barn, 27210 Altamont Road, Los Altos Hills.

Los Altos Hills council member Emily Cheng will be there to start the 5K event.

To preregister for the event, download and print out the registration form available on the Los Altos Hills Town Web site at www.losaltoshills.ca.gov. Forms can also be obtained from Los Altos Hills Town Hall or local running stores.

Preregistration is $20 for the 5K run/walk and $10 for the children’s run. Registration on the day of the event is $22 for the 5K walk/run and $12 for the children’s run. All participants will get a T-shirt and race number.

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
