Paige Friesen and Edward Poulson have announced their engagement to be married Sept. 29 at the Wente Vineyards, Livermore, with a reception following the ceremony.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Harold Friesen of Mountain View and Virginia Stewart of San Jose. She graduated from Los Altos High School and is currently an officer with the Oakland Police Department.

The groom-to-be is the son of Dale Poulson and Doreen Zimerle of Pleasanton. He graduated from Foothill High School and has a degree in criminal justice from California State University, Hayward. He is employed as a lieutenant with the Oakland Police Department.

The couple plan to live in Danville.

Lennon, Brown

Sally Lennon and Darren Brown were married Jan. 14 in her mother’s home in Nevada City.

The bride is the daughter of John Lennon of Carey, N.C., and Charle Lennon of Nevada City. She is employed at Coherent Technology.

The groom is the son of Don and Nan Brown of El Dorado Hills, formerly of Los Altos. He graduated from St. Francis High School and has a degree in history from Colgate University. He is employed at ABD, Redwood City.

The couple live in San Francisco.

Singer, Degner

Nora Elizabeth Singer and Brett William Degner were married March 30 at the Rengstorff House, Shoreline Park, Mountain View. The bride is the daughter of Nancy and Lewis Singer of Mountain View. She graduated from Mountain View High School and has a bachelor’s degree in natural resources from University of California, Berkeley. She is a science teacher at Pinewood School, Los Altos.

The groom is the son of Jacque and Ray Degner of Los Altos. He graduated from Mountain View High School and has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and is a graduate student at Stanford University majoring in mechanical engineering.

The couple live in Menlo Park.

Joy, Durgin

Jenn Joy and Bill Durgin have announced their engagement to be married Sept. 14 in New York City.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Judy and Ken Joy of Los Altos. She is a 1992 graduate of Los Altos High School and received bachelor’s degrees from Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, in Boston.

The groom-to-be is the son of Catherine and Don Durgin of Mill Neck, N.Y., and a graduate of St. George’s School in Newport, R.I.

He received his bachelor’s degrees from Tufts and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. He received his master’s degree in fine arts from California College of Arts and Crafts, in San Francisco. He is currently employed as a photographer.

While in San Francisco, the bride-to-be operated jennjoygallery at 49 Geary St. She is currently interning at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, in the department of film and media, while she pursues a graduate degree in performance theory at New York University.

The couple plans to live in the Tribeca area of New York City.
