St. Francis High honored alumni and coaches last Saturday at the school’s annual Hall of Fame/Hall of Merit Dinner and Social in Malcolm Center.

Athletes, coaches and teams honored are listed below.

Teams: 1983 football, ‘83 baseball, ‘86 and ‘87 girls track and field, ‘87 and ‘88 gymnastics.

Individuals: Mike Hooper and Mike Monnard (’83 football); Ed Landphere and Tom Locatelli (’84 multiple sports); Jennifer Jackson (’88 volleyball); Joslyn Mack and Roslyn Mack (’89 track).

Special Category: Dave Osorio, Pat Keller and Ron Calcagno.

Hall of Merit: Margaret Taylor ‘61 Holy Cross, Rev. Joseph Tomei, ‘67 C.S.C.

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
