Los Altos Hills Parks and Recreation is putting on a benefit 5K LAH Pathways Run/Walk and one-mile Fun Run on May 11. The event is a benefit for the Los Altos Hills recreation programs.
The 5K run/walk starts at 9 a.m., and the children’s Fun Run starts at 10:30 a.m. Both events start and finish at Westwind Barn, 27210 Altamont Road, Los Altos Hills.
Those interested in walking are invited to come and walk the 5K event with the famous Triple Crown walker “Flyin’ Brian” Robinson, who recently walked the Appalachian, Pacific Crest and Continental Divide all in a single calendar year. All of these trails add up to more than 7,300 miles of some of the best hiking in the United States.
Los Altos Hills City Council member Emily Cheng will be there to start the 5K event.
Both the 5K and the one-mile runs will traverse scenic and somewhat hilly trails in Los Altos Hills.
To preregister for the event, download and print out the registration form available on the Los Altos Hills Town Web site at www.losaltoshills.ca.gov. Forms can also be obtained from Los Altos Hills Town Hall or local running stores.
Preregistration is $20 for the 5K run/walk and $10 for the children’s run. Registration on the day of the event is $22 for the 5K walk/run and $12 for the children’s run. All participants will get a T-shirt and race number.
