Dec. 10, 11:23 p.m., Fremont Avenue and A Street; Dec. 11, 10:57 p.m., Hawthorne Avenue and San Antonio Road; Dec. 13, 2:17 a.m., San Antonio Road and West Edith Avenue; Dec. 14, 12:32 a.m., San Antonio Road and Chester Drive; and Dec. 17, 2:10 a.m., El Camino Real and Ortega Avenue: Drivers were stopped on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Disturbance

Dec. 11, 1:51 p.m., Main Street: A caller reported a minor traffic dispute.

Dec. 14, 4:43 p.m., First Street: A caller reported a parking dispute.

Suspicious circumstances

Dec. 11, 2:13 p.m., Marich Way: A caller told police there was a bottle rocket in a mailbox.

Grand theft

Dec. 11, 5:46 p.m., Jay Street: A caller reported a residential theft.

Dec. 13, 5:11 p.m., Main Street: A retailer told police that someone had stolen figurines from a display case.

Malicious mischief

Dec. 13, 8:47 a.m., Hawthorne Avenue: A caller reported vandalism involving paint balls.

Telephone threats

Dec. 14, 1:42 p.m., Becker Lane: A caller reported receiving harassing phone calls.

Day laborers complaint

Dec. 14, 10:07 p.m., El Camino Real: A caller told police that there were day laborers loitering.

Residential Alarm

Dec. 14, 2:17 a.m., Torwood Lane: An officer responded to a residential alarm.

Controlled substance

Dec. 15, 11:22 a.m., Clinton Road: Police arrested someone for possession of a controlled substance.

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
