Kelly Romero died Nov. 19. A native of Illinois, she was 73.
Mrs. Romero was an elementary school teacher in the Mountain View School District.
She is survived by her children, Joseph Richard Romero, Gina Romero and Robert James Romero of Mountain View; her sister, Norma Hellwig; and grandson, Robert Romero.
Ethlyn ‘Lynn’ Ward
Ethlyn “Lynn” Ward died Nov. 23 in Mountain View. A native of Texas, she was 80.
Mrs. Ward was a longtime local resident. She was a hair stylist at Talk of the Town and The Revampery.
She is survived by her daughter, Loretta Craver; brother, John Berry; and niece and nephew, Marilyn and Michael Berry.
Services were held Nov. 29 at Oakwood Cemetery.
Mattie Cullen
Mattie Cullen died Nov. 20 in Mountain View. A native of Oklahoma, she was 84.
Mrs. Cullen was a receptionist at Pilgrim Haven Retirement Center.
She was the widow of William James Cullen. She is survived by children, Shanon Cullen of Los Altos and Brian Cullen; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Richard Edward
Dickerson
Richard Edward Dickerson died Nov. 19 at his Los Altos home. A native of Oklahoma, he was 82.
Mr. Dickerson was the owner of R.E. Dickerson and Associates.
He is survived by his wife, Marian Schreffler Dickerson; daughter, Debbie Brill; sister, Ann Schalk; and two grandchildren.
Lawrence Henry Hoeschen
Lawrence Henry Hoeschen, a 40-year Los Altos resident, died Nov. 10. A native of Montana, he was 82.
Mr. Hoeschen served as a captain in the U.S. Army Reserve during World War II. He retired as a corporate officer in the insurance industry. He later became an activist in Los Altos politics.
Mr. Hoeschen is survived by his wife, Jeanne Hoeschen; children, Kathleen Dow, Paul Hoeschen and Patricia Haringer; grandchildren, Kristina and Sam Bradley, Eric Hoeschen, and Christopher and Andrew Haringer.
Verna Louise Evans
Verna Louise Evans of Los Altos died Nov. 17. A native of Minnesota, she was 80.
Mrs. Evans was a retired secretary for Los Altos High School.
She was a member of the Republican Women’s Club.
Mrs. Evans was the widow of William “Bill” Evans. She is survived by children, Rick Evans of Los Altos and Scot Evans; grandchildren, Emily and Tyler of Los Altos and William and Kendal.
Private family services were held.

Mrs. Hansen was a member of the S.F.V.
She was predeceased by her child Jean Rumsey and brother Joe Costa. She is survived by her husband Peter Hansen; daughter Kerstin Hansen; and siblings Laura Rezendes of Mountain View, Clara Lawrence and John Costa Jr.
