Karen Mathews and Keith Fink have announced their engagement to be married Jan. 19 at St. Vincent de Paul, San Francisco. A reception will be held at the Mark Hopkins Hotel.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Dee and Ted Mathews of Singer Island, Fla. She graduated from Homewood-Flossmoor High School in Flossmoor, Ill., and received her bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s in business administration from Northwestern University. She is employed as a marketing consultant.
The groom-to-be is the son of Carol and George Fink of Los Altos. He is a graduate of Los Altos High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from West Point and a master’s in business administration from Duke University. He is employed as vice president, Lend Lease Real Estate Investments.
The couple plan to live in the San Francisco Bay Area.
McGowan, Pelot
Kelly McGowan and James Pelot have announced their engagement to be married May 25 in Ben Lomond.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Dick and Debbie Walker of Los Altos and Bill McGowan of Los Angeles. She graduated from Los Altos High School and will graduate in December from the University of California at Davis.
The groom-to-be is the son of Vince and Brooke Pelot of Ben Lomond and Tita Pelot of Pacific Grove.
He graduated from San Lorenzo High School and will graduate from the University of California at Davis in March.
Singer, Degner
Nora Elizabeth Singer and Brett William Degner have announced their engagement to be married in the spring.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Nancy and Lewis Singer of Mountain View. She graduated from Mountain View High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in natural resources from the University of California at Berkeley. She is employed as a science teacher at Pinewood School, Los Altos.
The groom-to-be is the son of Jacque and Ray Degner of Los Altos. He graduated from Mountain View High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a graduate student in mechanical enginering at Stanford University.
The couple plan to live in the Bay Area.
Hicks, Castillo
Jessica Hicks and Tom Castillo have announced their engagement to be married Feb. 2.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Sharon and Larry Hicks of Los Altos.
She is a graduate of St. Francis High School and received a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from California State University at San Diego. She is employed at Callisma in San Jose.
The groom-to-be is the son of Isabel Hunt of Santa Maria.
He graduated from Santa Maria High School and received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University at San Diego.
He is employed in human resources at Veritas Software in Mountain View.
