Jean on the Job

t’s been hard to concentrate in the last several months. Companies are in re-alignment and employees are trying to decide that the company’s products and goals matter after all. It is a difficult time to motivate the distracted worker and a painful time to see families affected by unemployment. Nearly every family is touched by the disease of low sales, low profits, low attendance, low customers, low down-awful “it ain’t what it used to be.”

The drop dead free fall our corporations have taken, following the best profit years in history, has been a shift too difficult to comprehend. So workers slump with the sales, and companies struggle to keep alive, keep the faith and keep on truckin’.

The spirit lifters look and sound like this:

Tell someone how much you appreciate knowing them.

Count your good fortunes and share the news of them.

Wear a flower, bring a flower, smell a flower.

Wish others well - out loud.

Appreciate focused work and focused workers.

Encourage enthusiasm by showing yours.

Enjoy the sun; taste the rain.

Do good work.

Celebrate the work of others.

Plan on new business, new products, new hope, new plans, new you.
