Mountain View resident Robyn Kizer, riding a 3-year-old horse named “R Springtime LUV,” won the U.S. National Top Ten award in the Half-Arabian Hunter Pleasure Futurity class at the annual U.S. National Arabian and Half-Arabian Championship Horse Show. The U.S. National, held Oct. 9-27 in Albuquerque, N.M., is considered one of the most prestigious North American championships for Arabian show horses. Kizer has been riding and competing for more than 30 years.
Los Altos alum games
Los Altos High hosts two varsity-alumni games this week. The Los Altos boys basketball team will take on alums at 6:30 p.m., today, in the main gym. PONY up for baseball
Sign ups for Los Altos-Mountain View PONY Baseball are in progress for boys and girls ages 5-18. In-person registration is scheduled for two Los Altos locations: 7-9 p.m., Jan. 8, at Loyola School; and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Jan. 12, at Oak School.

Lokahi Volleyball Club, for girls ages 12-18, has scheduled tryouts for Dec. 1, 2 and 9 in the Mountain View High gym. Cost is $10. Players must attend at least two consecutive tryouts to be considered and register 15 minutes before each tryout.
