By Man wanted for sexual assaults

Mountain View police last week were searching for the identity of a man suspected of sexually attacking four women over the past month.

Police said since Oct. 18, four residents have reported being groped by a man on a BMX-style bike while walking in Mountain View near Steven’s Creek Trail..

Police said they do not have conclusive evidence linking the four incidences but suspect the attacker is the same man because of the similarities in each case.

Police describe the man as 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin to medium build, no facial hair and very short or newly-shaved hair. The man is between 16 and 30 and has a Central or South American accent.

If you have information, call detective Nate Wandruff at 903-6388.

Mountain View

A 51-year-old Newark man died Oct. 28 in a three car accident on Interstate 280 north of Foothill Expressway in Los Altos Hills. The accident tied up northbound traffic for several hours.

Fritz Enrique Valderrama was an unrestrained passenger who was ejected from a white Ford pickup when it rolled over several times at 1:45 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The 39-year-old driver of the pickup was seriously injured and taken to Stanford Hospital.

The accident occurred when a Jaguar attempted to change lanes, causing a Camry to spin out of control and collide with the pickup.
