All Horizons Travel relocates to new downtown location
It was hard to move around 160 Main St. last week with boxes on the floor, plants needing water and the backs of unplugged computers showing everywhere.
Monday, it was a different scene. Rancho Travel is now All Horizons Travel in downtown Los Altos and open to accommodate travelers going anywhere in the world.
Maureen and Roy Jones have been Los Altos residents for over 35 years. When the opportunity came to purchase property on Main Street, they moved the travel agency that had been at Rancho Shopping Center for 25 years.
“The travel business is slow right now, but it won’t always be like this,” Maureen said. “More airports are opening and people want to travel again. Its a great time to make the move so we can be ready for holiday reservations.”
All four departments of the agency will now be located on the same floor. The Corporate Department with Vice President Paul Kowalewski will handle business travel, incentive and meeting planning.
President Ann Thomas will organize the 50 different groups that travel each year on O Solo Mio Singles Tours.
Marjorie Lane will manage the Leisure Department and Loretta Merry will steer the Cruise Department, better known as the Cruise Loft.
Roy, former president of the Rancho Merchants Association, is a retired colonel in the United States Marine Corps and recently joined Maureen to help direct the four companies.
Maureen, a native of Great Britain, is a travel agency specialist. She has traveled in 95 countries and has an extensive knowledge of 19. Before she purchased Rancho Travel 10 years ago, she was vice president of administration for a Silicon Valley company.
“We are quite proud of receiving many awards for excellence,” Maureen said. “Our agency is a member of vacation.com which allows clients to receive upgrades, discounts and priority treatment in many areas.”
Once the relocation is complete, All Horizons Travel plans a six week lecture series on Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Europe.
All Horizons is open 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and by appointment on Saturday.
