Oct. 16, 10:07 a.m., Deodara Drive: A caller reported an elderly male missing from the residence. The man later returned and said he had gone for a walk.

Vicious animal

Oct. 16, 4:52 p.m., Morton Avenue and Newcastle Drive: A caller reported his dog had been attacked by a neighborhood dog.

Tree down

Oct. 18, 9:11 a.m., Los Altos and Hamilton avenues: A caller reported a tree that appeared to be tilting dangerously.

Bank alarm

Oct. 18, 7:28 p.m., Main Street: Officers responded to a bank alarm.

Disturbance

Oct. 19, 7 a.m., El Camino Real: A caller reported a person causing a disturbance. The subject was gone by the time officers responded.

Reckless driver

Oct. 19, 12:29 p.m., Verano Drive: A caller reported a driver who appeared to be operating a vehicle in a reckless manner.

Driving under the influence

Oct. 19, 9:22 p.m., El Monte and University avenues: A caller reported witnessing a possibly intoxicated driver, but hung up before offering further details. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

Suspicious package

Oct. 19, 9:55 p.m., Homestead Court: A caller reported a suspicious envelope.

Oct. 20, 4 p.m., San Felicia Way: A caller reported a suspicious package.

Missing juvenile

Oct. 20, 12:22 a.m., El Camino Real and San Antonio Road: Officers located a juvenile reported as missing and contacted the juvenile’s parents.

Family disturbance

Oct. 20, 9:34 a.m., College Court: A caller reported a family disturbance.

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
