The Los Altos, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Cupertino and Palo Alto chambers of commerce will feature Emmy award-winning reporter Noel Cisneros at the annual Regional Women in Business Luncheon.
KRON Channel 4 reporter Cisneros will speak at the event scheduled 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Nov. 6, at the Sunnyvale Sheraton Four Points Hotel.
Cisneros is a general assignment reporter with a specialty in education. She joined KRON in 1994 and moved to the East Bay bureau in Oakland in 1995.
During the past year, Cisneros has won local, state and national awards for education reporting. The Bay Area School Reform Collaborative honored her for reporting the inequities in urban education. She was the only television reporter in California to receive the John Swett Award for Media Excellence from the California Teachers Association twice, and the Education Writers Association recognized her excellence in reporting.
Bay Area viewers first saw Cisneros in 1995 when she was the only reporter on the scene during the Guerneville floods.
She reported live from the Los Angeles riots, Sierra forest fires and the Oakland Hills fire. Cisneros was a general assignment reporter for KOVR-TV in Sacramento prior to joining KRON.
