Calcagno Consulting Service Association presents two coaching clinics Saturday at Mountain View High.
The Basketball Clinic of Champions and the Soccer Clinic of Champions will each start at 11:30 a.m. with registration and end at approximately 5 p.m.
The featured speaker at the basketball clinic will be Dick Davey, men’s coach at Santa Clara University.
The speaker lineup also includes Mary Hile-Nepfel, women’s coach at the University of San Francisco, and Bob Burton, men’s coach at West Valley College. Two of the Central Coast Section’s top boys coaches, Peter Diepenbrock of Palo Alto High and Rich Forslund of Riordan High, are scheduled to speak as well.
The featured speaker at the soccer clinic will be Bret Simon, men’s coach at Stanford University.
Also on the program are San Jose Earthquakes goalie Joe Cannon, San Jose State women’s assistant Cris Gilmore, former Earthquake Johnny Moore and St. Francis High boys coach Mark Demling.
Each speaker will give a 45-minute presentation on offense, defense or a particular aspect of the game.
The clinics are recommended for high school and youth coaches, but are open to the general public. The cost is $35 per person.
