The United Way Silicon Valley has established a 9/11 Response Fund to provide immediate assistance for those hurt during the terrorist attacks. The long-term purpose of the fund will be to support public safety personnel hurt or killed in the line of duty.

The Mountain View Professional Firefighters Association has established a fund to provide financial support to the families of firefighters who lost their lives last week. The association plans to give 100 percent of collected donations to the families of New York City firefighters.
