By Top two homes on list

in Los Altos Hills

It has been confirmed - homes in the Los Altos area are still very expensive. Los Altos Hills still tops the list.

The San Jose Business Journal recently reported the most expensive home sales in Santa Clara County from Sept. 1, 2000 to July 31, 2001.

At the top of the list is a two-year-old home on La Cresta Court which sold for $12 million last December.

Second place is held by an $8.1 million home on Taaffe Road, also built in 1999.

Not to be left out, of the top 25 homes, two were in Los Altos. In eighth place, a home on Jay Street sold for $4.2 million, and 25th on the list was a home on Summerhill Avenue which sold for $4 million.

Combining Los Altos and Los Altos Hills, eight homes made the Most Expensive list. Saratoga was second with six homes, then Los Gatos and San Jose each had three homes, and Palo Alto had two homes on the list.

The most recent of these sales were two completed on June 29.

Research was done by Angelo Reyes of the Business Journal.
