By Thinking in terms of an "adoption triad" may help illuminate the wide reach of adoption, a reach that extends to three primary constituents: adoptees, adoptive parents and birth parents. The Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF) will host a talk Sept. 11 featuring a representative from each major element of the adoptive experience.

The discussion, organized by the Post-Adoption Center for Education and Research (PACER), will emphasize the lifelong impact of adoption and address steps that can be taken to ensure that the impact is enriching.

The event will be presented Sept. 11, 7-8:30 p.m., in the Hearst Center for Health Education, Level 3, PAMF, 795 El Camino Real, Palo Alto. To register, call 853-4873.

In Our Opinion

Editorial

When members of the Los Altos Village Association first created the summer movie nights, they anticipated an event that would attract more residents downtown as a way to promote business.

What they didn’t anticipate was an influx of middle schoolers, or that parents would use the weekly Friday night affair as an opportunity to drop off their children and have someone else (in this case, the Village Association) effectively watch over them.
