“Make It Move,” an exhibit organized by the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, is on display through Sept. 9 at the Los Altos History Museum, 51 S. San Antonio Road.
“Make It Move” is an interactive exhibit that encourages hands-on explorations with simple machines. All ages are welcome.
“Make It Move” complements the museum’s permanent exhibits of farm equipment and machinery, according to director Madelyn Crawford.
The permanent exhibits “Crown of the Peninsula: Los Altos Land Use over Time” and the J. Gilbert Smith History House include several artifacts and concepts related to the valley’s orchardist and agricultural history. The outdoor exhibits include a newly restored tractor and sprayer, and two Formway Walnut Hullers.
Many of the exhibits are interactive, provide simple information about mechanics and physics, and some feature state-of-the-art computer stations.
The Los Altos History Museum is operated through a non-profit museum association in partnership with the City of Los Altos, under the Recreation Department. Admission for visitors 19 years and older is $3. Admission for members and visitors under 19 is free. Admission is free to all on the third Saturday of each month.
