Los Altos Hills resident Tom LeFevre said he plans to challenge the statistical results of a recent town survey that solicited residents’ opinions on various local issues.

LeFevre said he believes there hasn’t been enough analysis of the survey results. He suggested that city officials use cross-tabulations to better decipher the study, but then withdrew his scheduled presentation on suggestions for possible cross-tabulations Aug. 2, saying the issue had become too “politicized,” according to Mayor Toni Casey.

LeFerve said he still plans to further examine the survey results.

“The purpose of the gathering data is to have some facts that everyone can look at rather than debate one point of view versus another with little or no supporting evidence,” LeFerve said.

Casey said the city council was satisfied with the analysis and results of the town survey and would not support further analysis.

“I personally feel that the survey, as completed, supports the 10 goals of mine that have been approved by the city council. I have no need for further analysis, but if a resident would like to do it at his or her own expense, have at it.”

City council members worked with Crawford, Multari and Clark Associates to design the 20-question survey, completed last April.
