Virginia “Jinny” Leland Sparck died Aug. 7 at Stanford Hospital due to complications from abdominal cancer. A native of Westfield, NJ, she was 72.
Mrs. Sparck was a school teacher, church school leader and choir member. She started a 10-year career in Silicon Valley when she was 55.
Family members said she did much for many people with little fanfare.
Mrs. Sparck is survived by her husband, Sam; five children; and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday at Foothills Congregational Church in Los Altos.
Romano DiMuro
Romano DiMuro died July 22. A native of Salerno, Italy, he was 91.
Mr. DiMuro was manager for several branches of the Bank of Italy in New York, which eventually become CitiGroup.
He was an avid sports fan, who often went to Yankee Stadium to watch Joe DiMaggio and to Madison Square Garden for the legendary Friday night fights.
Mr. DiMuro is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rose; his son, Peter and his wife, Lucille; one brother, Salvatore DiMuro; two grandchildren, Gina Huettel and Laura Hastings; and two-great-grandchildren, Brian Huettel and Colin Hastings.
Virginia Nesvold
Virginia Nesvold died July 27. A native of Corcoran, she was 83.
Mrs. Nesvold was the widow of O.H. Nesvold. She is survived by children, Carol and her husband, Denis Hollwedel of Los Altos Hills and Brenda and her husband Frank; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Robert Chipman
Robert Chipman died July 30 in Mountain View. A native of San Francisco, he was 63.
Mr. Chipman was an engineer at Hewlett-packard. He was retired from the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve and was a member of the Loch Lomond Yacht Club and the HP Retired Employees Club.
He is survived by his life partner, Glenne Harding; daughter, Karen Weebe; brother, William G. Chipman and his wife, Monty; and three nieces.
Raymond Frederick Baldwin
Raymond Frederick Baldwin, a 40-year Los Altos resident, died July 30. A native of Long Beach, he was 81.
Mr. Baldwin attended the University of California at Los Angeles.
He served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt. Major and received the following the Good Conduct Award, Army Commendation Award, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon, Phillipine Liberation Ribbon, World War II Medal and Army of Occupation.
He was employed as a vice president with Paul Mason/Seagrams International up until his recent retirement. He was a member of the World Trade Club, The American Legion and the Los Altos Golf & Country Club.
Mr. Baldwin is survived by his wife, Kazuko Baldwin; daughter, Tracy Baldwin; and grandchidlrne, Stephani and Brian Guzman of Mountain View.
Kathleen Ann Tomlinson

Kathleen Ann Tomlinson died Aug. 8. A native of Iowa, she was 79.
Mrs. Tomlinson was a nurse. She received her business degree in nursing from San Jose State University.
Mrs. Tomlinson was the widow of Warren Behr Tomlinson. She is survived by children, Walter Tomlinson and his wife Catherine and Janet O’Connell; siblings, Marie McLaughlin, Edward Hensing, Paul Hensing and Veronica Hockett; and grandchildren, Alexander Tomlinson, Ryan Tomlinson, Erin Shea O’Connell and Quinn Thomas O’Connell.
