Little Acorn School celebrates anniversary

Little Acorn School, a preschool and day-care center located at 1667 Miramonte Avenue, Mountain View, has scheduled an anniversary celebration at 2-5 p.m., Sept. 15. High School seniors need to register for ACT

College-bound high school seniors must register for the ACT college admissions and placement exam by Aug. 17- the deadline for having registrations postmarked. The test fee is $24. Students can register for the ACT with their counselor or online at www.act.org.

People taking GED must pass by end of 2001

Californians working toward their General Educational Development (GED) certificate have until December 2001 to successfully complete the GED test. According to the California Department of Education, the GED Testing Service in Washington, D.C., will release a new test to replace the current one in January 2002. Scores from the old test cannot be converted or applied to scores on the new test.

LAHS Plan “Re-U-Knight” 30 year reunion

The Los Altos High School graduating class of 1971 is holding a 30-year reunion gala, set for 7 p.m., August 25, at Hyatt Rickey’s in Palo Alto.
