Bruce Royal Robertson died July 3. A native of Minnesota, he was 81. Mr. Robertson served as a pilot and officer in the Army Air Force in the North African and Pacific theaters. After the war Mr. Robertson joined Trans World Airlines, where he retired as captain in 1980. Mr. Robertson was the widower of Claire Adamson. He is survived by his sons, Jim and his wife, Jerry, and John and his wife, Heather; daughters, Ann Barnett and her husband, Bruce, and Gail Sutton and her husband, Mark; and grandchildren, Kevin, Danny, Kelly, Elsa, Brendan, Casey, Kyle, Grant, Tracy and Brett.
A celebration of Mr. Robertson’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at Valley Presbyterian Church, 945 Portola Road, Portola Valley.
Ronald H. Williams
Ronald H. Williams, son of a pioneer California family and developer of Town & Country Village, died May 26. A California native, he was 92. Mr. Williams was born into an old California family, based in Santa Barbara, that included a grandfather who was a California Supreme Court justice and a great-grandfather who ran for governor of California. Mr. Williams founded Williams Cutlery stores. He later became interested in architecture and business and developed the chain of shopping centers called Town & Country Villages. Mr. Williams is survived by his son, Jim; daughter, Susan Wilson; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Stephen P. McCrea
Stephen P. McCrea, a 27-year Los Altos resident, died July 7 after a long illness. A native of New York, he was 86. Mr. McCrea graduated from St. Johns College in Annapolis, Md., in 1936. He began working for Pan American World Airways in 1939 and retired in 1975 as captain. Besides having a love for flying, Mr. McCrea was a master craftsman. He built five homes from the ground up, two in Los Altos and three at Sea Ranch. Mr. McCrea was predeceased by his first wife, Elaine. He is survived by his wife, Georgina; sons, John “Jack” and Robert “Bob”; daughters, Barbara Mancini and Kathleen “Kathy”; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Ivan J. Milovina
Ivan J. Milovina, an 82-year Los Altos resident, died June 22. A native of Cupertino, he was 84. Mr. Milovina was a lifelong rancher, growing fruit in the Santa Clara Valley for more than 35 years. He was a longtime member of several social organizations, including the Elks Club, the Los Altos Country Club and the Native Sons of the Golden West. Mr. Milovina is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eva; sons, Jim and his wife, Lyle, Tom and his wife, Wendy, and John and his wife, Patricia; grandchildren, Michael, David, Adam, Kellie, Michele and Hayley Milovina, and Heather Mancini; and great-grandchildren, Taliah and Oliver Mancini.
Sister Helen Hurley
Sister Helen Hurley died July 13 in Los Altos Hills. A native of California, she was 85. Sister Hurley was a teacher with the Daughters of Charity. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Nel Hurley, and her nephew, Timothy Hardey. She is survived by her sister, Kathryn Hardey; nieces and nephews, LeRoy, Mary and Thomas; and numerous great-nieces and -nephews.
Marcia E. Barry
Marcia E. Barry, a longtime Los Altos resident, died of natural causes on June 17. A native of Hawaii, she was 88. Mrs. Barry attended the University of Washington. She was active in school and community affairs. While in Los Altos, she designed the California Room in the DAR Museum in Washington, D.C. She was also a member of Zonta International, Republican Women and the Los Altos Merchants’ Association. Mrs. Barry was the widow of Frederic. She is survived by her daughter, Joan Barry Marsh; sons, Richard and Robert; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Helen Bustamante
Helen Bustamante died June 11. A native of Arizona, she was 76. She was a weatherperson in the U.S. Air Force. Mrs. Bustamante is survived by her sisters, Clara Mendivil of Los Altos, Louisa Quiroz, Evangeline Rubic and Rosemary Fraser.
Samuel M. Kevan
Samuel M. Kevan died June 30. A native of North Carolina, he was 81. Mr. Kevan was a commander in the U.S. Navy. He was the widower of Barbara Ann. Mr. Kevan is survived by his children, Roger Kevan and Art Wilder; grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Margaret Kevan of Duarte, Calif.
Margaret Ann Carroll
Margaret Ann Carroll died June 30. A native of Ohio, she was 66. Mrs. Carroll was a self-employed interior designer. She is survived by her husband, Don, of Los Altos; daughter, Lisa Rosselott; sister, Mary Kruse; and brother, Robert Southworth. She was predeceased by her son, J.D. Rosselott.
Constance ‘Connie’ Dunn
Constance “Connie” Dunn died June 30. A native of Massachusetts, she was 64. After a Silicon Valley career in finance and administration, she retired and gave freely of her time to volunteer work. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, George; children, Danya Shegoleff and Kristian Dunn; grandchild, Bella Shegoleff; and sister, Barbara Storrie.
Maxine Hoddle
Maxine Hoddle died July 8. A native of Oregon, she was 79. She was the widow of Robert. She is survived by her children, Kent and Vance of Oregon; and grandchild.
