The Los Altos Majors All-Stars made a quick exit from the Section 5 Tournament, losing their initial two games of the double-elimination event.

The team of 11- and 12-year-olds lost 6-1 to King City on Sunday, then fell 6-0 to Aptos the next day in Santa Clara.

Kellen McColl accounted for Los Altos’ only run of the tournament, slugging a home run against King City.

On Monday, Aptos jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning - powered by a grand slam - and Los Altos never recovered from the onslaught. Los Altos twice loaded the bases in the game, but failed to drive anyone home.

The prior week, Los Altos beat Campbell to win the District 44 title.

The Los Altos team consisted of Scott Dawes, Andrew Geenen, Troy Hartter, EJ Johnson, Erik “E2″ Johnson, Kurt Kaszubinski, Adam Lanthier, McColl, Evan Sanders, Mike van Bronkhorst, Isaac Wilhelm and Danny Young.

The team was coached by manager Mark Geenen and assistants Dean Johnson and Craig Young.
